ABOUT THIS WATCH
When the passion of Scottish Watches met the precision engineering of Formex, a unique vision was brought to life. Rikki's inspiration from the misty Isle of Skye in Scotland, known for its captivating night skies and the ethereal Aurora Borealis, sparked the creation of a dial that captures this breathtaking colorful display of light. The result is an aventurine glass dial adorned with luminous drops that spring to life under ultraviolet light, symbolizing the northern lights with a luminous display: green lume from 10 to 2 o’clock and blue from 3 to 9 o’clock.
Crafted with meticulous care, the dial combines different glass colors and copper shavings, resulting in a shimmering and elegant effect. The delicate aventurine material requires precise techniques at every production stage, showcasing Formex's mastery in dial craftsmanship. The watch features an open case back with sapphire crystal, revealing the intricate mechanical movement within. Adding a touch of mystique and community connection, the watch includes a special UV resin-infused drawing of Dunvegan Castle, which appears when illuminated by the included ultraviolet torch. This enchanting artwork, created by Matt Webster, a talented tattoo artist and Scottish Watches podcast listener, brings a personal touch to this limited edition piece.
Movement
The Essence ThirtyNine is powered by Sellita's highest quality grade SW200-1 Swiss Made Automatic movement, beautifully decorated and wound by Formex's custom skeletonized rotor. Each one of these movements is certified by the COSC and undergoes the meticulous 15-day rate test to ensure extraordinary levels of mechanical accuracy and precision.
Straps and Clasps
For a perfect fit and more comfort on the wrist at all times, we're using the new Formex Deployant clasp with a gradual fine-adjustment system for the leather and rubber straps. The stainless steel bracelet, which reflects the same flawless finishing of the Essence's case, has a hidden Micro-Extension. All straps and the steel bracelet can be changed without the use of any tools and in just a few seconds.

FEATURES
A chronometer is a watch that has been tested and certified to meet the most strict precision and accuracy standards. “Chronometer” isn’t just a name that any watch brand can print on the dial of its watches. It is an official nomenclature, defined by precise rules, which lay down the definition of the term “chronometer”, describing the categories, the test programme and the acceptable minimum requirements for wrist chronometers. In Switzerland, the COSC, or Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres, is the only official organisation allowed to certify chronometers.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION
SUSPENSION SYSTEM
Since the beginning of Formex in 1999, the patented Case Suspension System has been an integral part of Formex timepieces. Its two main functions are:
- absorbs shocks to protect the mechanical movement from heavy impacts
- adds to the comfort on the wrist by adapting to the wearer’s movements
Modeled with high-performance bikes and racing cars in mind, the Formex patented case suspension system works by integrating four springs between the upper and lower watch case. The result is the ultimate shock absorption system designed to protect the mechanical movement and deliver unparalleled comfort to the wearer.
This patented case suspension system brings form and function together for Formex Swiss watches. It’s functional, it’s state of the art engineering and it’s unquestionably unique - all in one watch.
