ABOUT THIS WATCH

Built to last, the Formex Field uses the sturdiest of available materials and a colorful selection of highly legible dials. The 40mm case and crown are made entirely from titanium grade 2. A special hardening treatment increases the Fields surface hardness from 145 Vickers to approximately 900 Vickers while retaining the light weight, comfort and hypoallergenic properties of titanium. The recessed numbers and hour markers give the dial a visible depth that is elevated by the curved outer chapter section. Numbers, markers and the brushed hands are hand-filled with old radium (100% safe) Super LumiNova that emits a bright yellowish-green at night. Adding a mere 5g to the case weight of 65g, the nylon velcro strap is durable and comfortable on the wrist. The leather straps come with Formex’s carbon composite clasp with a patented 7mm fine-adjustment. With a water resistance of 150 meters, the Formex Field Automatic is the perfect watch for any mission.

An Automatic, also called self-winding watch, is a mechanical watch in which the mainspring is wound automatically as a result of the natural motion of the wearer's arm, to provide energy to run the watch, making manual winding unnecessary. All our Automatic movements are manufactured in Switzerland.
A screw-down crown is a threaded winding crown that screws tightly into the case and prevents water and dust from entering. Screw-down crowns are commonly used in Diver’s watches, as they prevent from accidentally pushing open the crown, causing possible water damage.
A sapphire crystal or “glass” is a very hard, transparent material made of crystallizing pure aluminium oxide at extremely high temperatures. Sapphire is one of the hardest substances on earth. It measures 9 on the Mohs scale (diamond measures 10, the highest rating), which is a system for rating the relative hardness of various materials, making it virtually scratch proof.
Applying AR coating will limit the reflection on a sapphire or mineral glass to a very low level.
This watch features an ultra-strong and light-weight folding clasp, made of carbon fiber composite and a stainless steel or titanium buckle. The gradual fine adjustment system allows you to tighten or loosen the strap length when the wrist size varies due to temperature and activity.
All straps and bracelets can be interchanged by hand without the use of any tools and in a few mere seconds. This allows you to easily swap straps on the go and wear your personal style for any occasion.
Water resistance measures how much water pressure a watch can handle before it breaks. This measurement is important to know for the proper care and keeping of your watch. Water resistance of 150 m / 500 ft means that it can be used for swimming, snorkeling, and similar activities.

40 MM TITANIUM GRADE 2 CASE

Case and crown are entirely made of titanium grade 2, a material that is stronger and lighter than stainless steel. Titanium is also extremely hypoallergenic, anti-magnetic and corrosion-resistant. On top of that, a special hardening treatment makes it scratch- and fingerprint resistant.

A TRIED AND TESTED WORKHORSE

Driving the hands is a Sellita SW200-1 self-winding movement with a power reserve of 41 hours. This automatic movement is among the most trusted in modern mechanical Swiss Made watches, and can be serviced by literally any certified watchmaker around the world. The movement is safely stored in an enclosed case back with an engraved honey-comb pattern. With a dive-watch style screw down crown and a water resistance of 150 meters, the Formex Field Automatic is the perfect watch for any mission.

FINE ADJUSTMENT CLASP

Besides contributing to visual appeal, the details on the Field also serve a purpose. For a timepiece to be a watch for all occasions, it needs to feel exceptionally comfortable on the wrist. For even more wrist comfort, Formex added for the Field leather straps their patented Carbon Fiber Composite Folding Clasp that allows for fine-adjustment of the strap length on the go, allowing for a perfect fit on the wrist in all conditions and temperatures. All straps can be changed without the use of any tools.

COLORFUL AND LEGIBLE DIALS

One of the main features of a Field watch is its high contrast dial. Formex offers six different color options that are inspired by vintage machinery; Charcoal, Petrol Blue, Ash Grey, Mahogany Red, Ultra Violet and Sage Green. The numbers and markers are recessed, while the outer chapter section is curved upwards. This gives each dial a visible depth and enhances its legibility. The recessed surfaces and the brushed hands are filled with old radium (100% safe) Super LumiNova that emits a bright yellowish-green at night.

The Field case allows to install 3rd party straps with a width of 20mm and straight spring bars. All Field straps can be changed by hand without the use of tools. The carbon fiber composite folding clasp with patented fine adjustment system can be changed without tools and used for all Field leather straps.

The micro-adjustment is now even easier to use and can be operated while the watch is on your wrist. Lightweight, smooth to the touch, ultra-durable and highly functional, this clasp is a real piece of engineering, making your watch even more comfortable to wear.
